The clinic was started in 1987 and is centrally located in Bergen with walking distances from railway station and bus station, and is up-to-date with modern equipment such as doppler ultrasound and equipment for measuring bone mass density. The clinic has parking spaces at its disposal.

Dr. Steier, the responsible medical doctor has his medical degree from the University of Heidelberg. He has long-time experience working as a gynecologist at Kvinneklinikken, Haukeland Universitetsklinikk. He is a specialist in female diseases and birth help. Dr. Steier has a doctor`s degree in the subject of hormones during the pregnancy. He has been in charge of fetal diagnostics at Haukeland Universitetsklinikk from 1986 to 1994. From 1987 he built up the fertility department at the hospital, and he was in charge of it until Mars 2003.

In addition he has since 1987 been running a part time specialist clinic in female diseases and birth help focusing on childlesness, early pregnancy, hormonal problems, contraception and menopausal worries.
